ROY & PAUL PAINTING DONATES EFFORTS TO ROYAL OAK HISTORICAL MUSEUM

Date of Record: January 21, 2010

Throughout the months of January and February, employees of Roy & Paul Painting & Decorating, a painting and color consulting company based in Royal Oak, are working together to scrape, repair plaster and repaint the old firehouse on Webster just West of Crooks Road.

The historical firehouse, built in 1925, is soon to be the new home of the non-profit Royal Oak Historical Museum (www. royaloakhistoricalsociety.com) . The paint used for the project was donated by The Sherwin Williams Company, located on Woodward at Catalpa, a key supporter and business partner of Roy & Paul Painting. All painting and preparatory work, valued at over $6500, was completed free of charge.

“Each winter we participate in at least one community project, or assist local senior citizens who are unable to paint (or pay for painting)”, said Paul Lampinen, president of the company.  “It’s our way of giving back to the communities we serve. This firehouse and the Royal Oak Historical Museum have great value to the city, and it’s a worthwhile project.”
